BluesPoetry

News Year all full of tears
while shopping for end of war in Sears
bought some new hometown fears
from some Jews who were selling careers
in front of full lenght mirrows
after drinking just 99 beers
made by a group of my peers
that tasted just like pears
from frozen out of state mayors
or look a like brittney spears
or Texas longhorn queer steers
noting it's time to be changing gears
while sipping some sweet 'green' tea
I was thinking of you not of me
or someone less free
but perhaps a friend named Lee
that had a boat put out to sea
in water just up above my knee
it sounds so silly it looks green to me
but back to the news scenes on TV
more distorted, jaded with lies to our face
this country has fallen from grace
can someone standup without lace on their face
another cover up to add to the disgrace

resign and apologize to the whole human rac

BluesPoetry
New Years is a roll of the dice
give a big cheer for old tired eyes
want to new ride with only forward gears
lots of good hugs from two legged dears
Auld lang Zine has passed in review
got to see clearly with respect that I'm due
find a new color different from BLUE
get a new path away from the zoo
Shoot toward heaven back away from hell
looking for sunshine and away from the jail
walking on a different road trying this for a spell
singing a new song and ringing a bell
Rolling as I'm walking out of town
thinking of sweet thoughts threw away my old frown
knowing I was acting in the past like a clown
lighting up a torch moving up and not down

Where did you go Joe Danz?
You hard headed German
You tobacco chewer beer drinking SOB
You socialist you cheapskate roomie
from Pennsylvania
You turnip eating Air Force veteran
Where did you go?

Where did you go Mike Lawrence?
You Jew boy social worker
You Dr's son you confused third son
You roomie you good friend you traveler
You tennis player fraternity brother
Where did you go?

Where did you go John Heiss?
You wet behind the ears Indiana Hoosier
You Vietnam veteran dope smoker
You father you felon you divorce junkie
You poet you gimp you long haired artist
Where have you not gone?

Where have we all gone?
Where did the flowers go
The swimming holes
The kick the can games
The fireflies and bubble gum
The pea shooters
Where did it all go?
The rifle shot re-directed my compass
My foot hold on my sanity was blurry
For 37 years I have staggered forward
One chapter to another seeking salvation
for a resting place
My choices have not always been of my own
nor my hearts
My seeds have grown into beautiful trees and flowers
Watering them each in my own fashion
I fed them and they have given me much
I have walked with them on their path
I have learned much and with passion guided them
with out a true compass nor a star to hang on to
From the smoky haze I am emerging to a new
level of wisdom
No more free falls just gentle breezes at my back
Give me plenty of sunshine for this solor powered man
I am moving down the line.

Cowboy

When I was nine I wanted to be
the " Cowboy six shooter" man
The man with the boots ,hat and spurs
They jangled with you walked
Quick on the draw.

Rusty not broken

Rust on the wing nut
Rust on my heart
Rust in the morning
Rusty but not stuck on tight

Rust on the tailpipe pipe
Rust is color of the flowers
Rust on the elbow
Rusty but not broken

Rust that came from disappointment
Rust thats part of aging
Rust that cuts with a vengence
Rusty but not useless
